Didn’t know you lived in SF at any point. Was there in the 60’s and 70’s and it was unlike any place else. Unfortunately now it’s like every place else (mostly). I might suggest Ripple by the Grateful Dead - the one all of us deadheads play these days in order to regulate our limbic systems so scrambled from having survived that era!

Hi David. I did not live in SF; rather, I lived in Thousand Oaks near LA. That was in the mid-60s. I have many fond memories of that time of my young life.

I love “Ripple” and would have included it, but as you may have guessed by now, I am just barely scratching the surface of American music. This podcast could go on forever!

But alas, I plan to wrap it up in another 2-3 episodes and move on to my next creative project: Revising and reissuing my one and only novel, “Map of Dreams.”

Brant - Cool dude and I get it. For years and years I would attend dead concerts and head toward the back of whatever coliseum they were playing and close my eyes and then step carefully through the crowd of whirling dervishes that were slowly spinning without ever touching any of them. it was as close to being a dervish as possible I think (or actually no thinking allowed). I have read Map of Dreams but look forward to another strapping good yarn!

Wow! Multiple Dead concerts. Cool. I only saw one, circa 1972, and I remember being blown away at Bob Weir's guitar playing. The guy is a master. Fabi and I visited the REAL whirling Dervishes last year, in Konya, Türkiye. It was quite an experience. Re: "Map of Dreams" -- did you read one written by my nom de plume Paul Coruso? I hope not, because that book, my first, is in dire need of a revision. By the way -- Do you recognize the name "Paul Coruso?"
